What does it take?

Under: Looking Ahead
There's something you want. There always is, even if you want things to stay the same. How come we want something but don't want to give anything up for it? We seem to think that we're always at a loss for something. We approach life with an attitude of loss. So what does it take to see things from abundance? What will it take to want to give things up, to want to be free of the things that keep us craving more?
This is really about attachment to our comfort zones. We sit in our worlds and hold on to what we know, secretly knowing that this precious information isn't as useful as it once was. We've been operating on the theory that life is unfair and suffering is natural. All the while we're jealous of how free our pets are. We escape to the harmony of nature. So really, do you still think suffering is natural?
Now the world is moving towards greener goals, more generous activities and more fulfilling lives. That says a lot about the changes to come. Suffering is not normal anymore, even the pains of work and problems are becoming challenges and learning curves. Although there is no single philosophy defining these changes, there are common themes highlighting and motivating how people are changing. Think about it. I'll write about it again later.
