Under: How to question
I know everyone goes through it at some point. Whether your parents want you to be an Accountant and you want to be a biotechnician, whether you can't choose what chocolate to buy, or whether you don't actually like yourself, you experience inner conflict.
Now really, what's the point of fighting with yourself? How does it help you? Is it making you stronger or is it ruining your life? There are many causes, consequences and solutions, but does that really explain why you're going through it? Imagine that there was no conflict in your life. Everything went your way, worked out perfectly, was super smooth. Would you be happy? Well yes, but how long would you be happy for?
This is a very specific point of conflict that many people experience. When nothing is going their way, it's a problem. When everything is going their way, great, but hold on, what's the catch... you know it'll end. That's a problem. So we end up riding up and down on our emotions waiting for things to improve, waiting till things get worse. If we're not waiting we're not even aware that we're on this ride.
So what's the point? The point is that this is life, and you know it. But do you know that you can change it? More precisely, you can change how you experience it. It seems the same but it's not. Changing life is not going to happen. Changing yourself is just as tough. But changing the way you experience life is like changing the lens on your camera or cleaning the dirty window of your car. You get fresh perspective, new eyes it seems! So what does this mean? It means that you learn to understand your life in a new way. Fresh understanding means new interpetations of experiences and finding new meaning that makes things more related to you. Strange I know.
