Your Direction

Posted by Sarah Mills on Monday, July 19, 2010, In : To live or not to live. That is your problem.
Many of us are faced with the challenge of choosing how to move forward. The lucky few are able to see a way, the rest of us are left hanging in limbo or plagued by frustration. We all wish for an easier way, a simpler answer, a guide or instruction booklet. Why is it that we have this need? Why do we feel cheated when things don't work out? There seems to be the perspective that we will get what we expect or we deserve certain results.

Now I'm not one to go shouting life's not fair. I truly b...

Carrying on when you're not being carried

Without support there are more severe limitations, or let's say challenges to confront. For instance, having different values to your family. What keeps you going when there's no steam in your engine? Who's to say? Not that it's impossible to push forward and form a new support network, but what do you do with the conflict you're experiencing feeling the need for external support and it's not coming from the source you want it to?

There hasn't been an easy solution for many people in this situ...

When does it matter?

Posted by Sarah Mills on Thursday, May 6, 2010, In : To live or not to live. That is your problem.
When does it matter that I'm not perfect? It always seem to matter that I'm not perfect when things are bad. It never seems to matter that I'm not perfect when things are good. When things are good they're always perfect, but at the same time perfection doesn't exist. Seems like a contradictory believe and value system to me. Common personal growth skills tend to be quite general and broad in description, application and meaning. Anyone can use them, change them, achieve success with them. My question is, do you feel completely satisfied? As with most things, it depends, it changes, it shifts, it ebbs and flows. We often find ourselves striving for a constant state of happiness, of comfort, of peace. We put all our energy into creating a perfect state where we feel great, whilst most of the time we feel less than ...

Restarting New

Posted by Sarah Mills on Monday, January 11, 2010, In : To live or not to live. That is your problem.
Many people interested in change are unable to implement or follow-through on the things they set out to do. Whilst some of us like to be told what to do, others prefer going it alone. Sure enough we each have our own way of doing things which makes it hard to find an all-round solution to life. Advice often contradicts which highlights that we're not looking for advice, but rather confirmation that what we're doing is right. As obvious as this may be to some, the underlying purpose is to pro...

Tough cookies

Posted by Sarah Mills on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, In : To live or not to live. That is your problem.

So honestly, what is the point of Life Coaching? That's all people ask me. What can I say? That it's not like counselling or consulting... really to the point, thanks. So why would anyone want a life coach? "I don't have a problem."; "So you think there's something wrong with me?" That's all people seem to think. It's like they think "life" and think "it's about me", then they think "coach" and they think "problem, bad". What the hell. Is everyone, seriously every person, thinking firstly of ...
